Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: In a major crackdown, the Madhya Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has exposed a large-scale teacher recruitment scam. The investigation revealed that several teachers secured government jobs using fake B.Ed mark sheets. So far, 34 teachers have been booked for fraud and forgery, with 8 named as accused.
Fake Mark Sheets Used to Gain Jobs
The accused teachers are posted across Gwalior, Morena, Shivpuri, and Indore districts, including seven teachers from Gwalior. STF investigations revealed that these teachers submitted falsified B.Ed mark sheets to meet eligibility requirements for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), after which they were illegally appointed to government schools.
Identical Certificates Suggest Organized Racket
The probe found that several mark sheets were exact replicas, with identical scores, subjects, and serial numbers. Initial investigations suggest the existence of a organized syndicate that prepared and sold fraudulent B.Ed mark sheets, enabling multiple candidates to gain government employment unlawfully.
Identification of Key Operators
STF officials are currently identifying the masterminds and accomplices behind the racket. Investigators are also scrutinizing the academic institutions and boards that allegedly issued these certificates. Authorities suspect that the network spans multiple districts across the state.
Verification Confirms Fraud
During the probe, STF verified the teachers’ documents with the respective universities, confirming that many certificates were completely fake. FIRs have been registered against all suspected teachers under charges of fraud, forgery, and illegal entry into government service. District education officers have been instructed to review the services of these teachers and initiate suspension procedures. Officials emphasized that this is just the beginning, and further names may surface as investigations continue.
