MP Sees Major IPS Transfers: Sanjay Kumar Appointed New Bhopal Police Commissioner

In a significant reshuffle aimed at strengthening law and order, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred 14 senior IPS officers, including the Bhopal Police Commissioner. Harinarayan Chari Mishra, who previously held the post, has been reassigned, and 2004-batch IPS officer Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Bhopal.

Harinarayan Chari Mishra Takes Charge at SCRB

Harinarayan Chari Mishra has been posted as Inspector General of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB). The Home Department has issued the official transfer notification, and all officers will now assume charge at their new postings.

Key Transfers Among Senior IPS Officers

  • Pankaj Kumar (1992 batch): Previously Special Director General (SDG), Police Headquarters Bhopal, he is now appointed SDG, CID Police Headquarters Bhopal and also given additional charge of SDG, Vigilance, Police Headquarters Bhopal.
  • Anant Kumar Singh (1994 batch): Released from central deputation, he has been appointed SDG / Managing Director, MP Police Housing Corporation, Bhopal.
  • K.P. Venkateshwar Rao (1995 batch): Former Additional DG, Narcotics, now appointed Additional DG, Technical Services, Police Headquarters Bhopal, and also given additional charge of STF/Naxal Operations.
  • Umesh Joga (1997 batch): Former DG, Ujjain Zone, has been posted as Additional DG / Transport Commissioner, MP, Gwalior.
  • D. Srinivas Verma (1997 batch): Former Additional DG, Police Headquarters Bhopal, now appointed Additional DG, Narcotics, Police HQ Bhopal, and given additional charge of STF.
  • Vivek Sharma (1998 batch): Former DG / Transport Commissioner, Gwalior, now appointed Additional DG, PTRI, Police HQ Bhopal.
  • Anurag Yadav (1998 batch): Former DG, Police HQ Bhopal, appointed Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, MP.
  • Rakesh Gupta (1999 batch): Former Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, now appointed Additional DG, Ujjain Zone.

This extensive reshuffle underscores the state government’s efforts to ensure more efficient policing and better law enforcement across Madhya Pradesh. With Sanjay Kumar taking charge in Bhopal, authorities hope for stronger oversight and enhanced public safety in the state capital.
