MP Police Bust Major Drug Manufacturing Unit in Rajasthan, Narcotics Worth ₹5 Crore Seized

In a major crackdown against narcotics trafficking, Madhya Pradesh Police have uncovered an illegal MD drug manufacturing factory in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, seizing contraband and chemicals worth nearly ₹5 crore and arresting three accused in a meticulously planned inter-state operation.

The action was carried out by the Agar Malwa (Shajapur range) police following crucial leads obtained from a recently arrested drug trafficker.

Initial Arrest Led to Major Breakthrough

According to Superintendent of Police Vinod Singh, on January 20, Kotwali police arrested Faizan, son of Abdul Mannan, a resident of Noorani Nagar, Susner, from the Agar–Susner Road near Amla area based on a tip-off.

During the search, police recovered 330 grams of MD drugs, estimated to be worth ₹33 lakh, along with a mobile phone. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was immediately registered.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that the narcotics supply chain was operating from Jhalawar district in Rajasthan, exposing a larger inter-state drug network.

Raid Conducted with 80-Member Police Team

Acting on the inputs, a special team of around 80 police personnel launched a late-night operation on January 28 in Ghatakhedi village under Dag police station area of Jhalawar district.

During the raid at the residence of accused Tahir Khan, suspicious activities were detected, following which Shahir Khan (46) and Munawwar Khan alias Raja (40), both residents of Ghatakhedi, were arrested from the spot.

Massive Recovery of Drugs, Chemicals and Weapons

Police seized a large cache of narcotics and materials used in drug manufacturing, including:

  • MD drugs and smack
  • Ketamine chemicals
  • 25 narcotic injections
  • 5 kg sodium carbonate
  • 7 kg ammonium nitrate
  • Drug-manufacturing machinery and drums
  • Seven mobile phones
  • Duplicate number plates
  • One country-made firearm and one air gun

The total value of the seized material has been estimated at approximately ₹5 crore.

Rajasthan Police Provided Assistance

The operation was conducted in coordination with Rajasthan Police, ensuring smooth execution of the raid without any law-and-order disturbance.

SP Vinod Singh stated that the entire operation was carried out in a planned, peaceful and intelligence-based manner.

Hunt On for Wider Network

Police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members linked to the drug trafficking syndicate, which is believed to be operating across multiple states.

Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, Agar Malwa police said strict action will continue at both district and inter-state levels to dismantle drug networks and prevent the spread of synthetic drugs.

The operation is being seen as one of the biggest anti-drug crackdowns in the region in recent times.
