MP Pappu Yadav Granted Bail, Path Cleared for Release from Jail

Patna, February 13, 2026: Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, MP from Purnia, has been granted bail in three separate cases, paving the way for his imminent release from Beur Jail.

According to his office, following the bail approval, a post on X (formerly Twitter) stated: “Satyamev Jayate. Bail has been granted in all cases. MP Pappu Yadav will soon be free. He has always fought for justice and will continue to oppose injustice wherever it exists.”

Arrested in 31-Year-Old Case

Pappu Yadav was recently taken into custody in connection with an old case dating back 31 years. The charges pertained to obstruction of police duties and alleged illegal occupation of a property in Patna’s Buddha Colony area. His arrest had sparked claims from opposition leaders that the action was politically motivated.

Release Could Happen Anytime

With bail granted by the MP-MLA Court in all three cases, Pappu Yadav may be released from Beur Jail at any moment.

Threats to Court Delayed Bail Earlier

Although bail could have been granted earlier, repeated threats to blow up Patna Civil Court with explosives had delayed proceedings. Pappu Yadav’s office had raised questions over these delays.
