MP Congress Worker Arrested by Delhi–Rajasthan Police Joint Team; District President Stages Sit-in Outside SP Office

Narsinghpur (MP): Tension gripped Bilgawan village under Tendukheda police station in Narsinghpur district after a joint team of the Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police arrived early Friday morning and arrested local Congress worker Manjeet Ghosi.
The team left with him for Delhi shortly after the arrest. The official reason for the arrest has not been disclosed, triggering protests from Congress leaders.

Police Took Him Away Without Explanation, Claims Family

Manjeet’s brother Lakshmikant Ghosi told reporters that the police team reached the house around 7 a.m. and detained Manjeet without sharing any details of the charges.

He confirmed that Manjeet has been an active Congress worker and had recently posted something on social media.
Family members alleged that the police acted without informing local authorities and left immediately after the arrest.

Congress Erupts in Protest; District President Launches Sit-in

As news of the arrest spread, Congress leaders rushed to the Superintendent of Police (SP) office.
District Congress President Sunita Patel, along with party workers, staged a sit-in, demanding written clarification from the police.

Patel alleged:

“Delhi and Rajasthan Police picked up a party worker without notice and without citing any reason. This is a violation of democratic rights.”

She declared she would not leave the SP office until the arrest memo or reason for detention is provided in writing.

Political Allegations Surface

During the protest, Patel said that if action is to be taken for political statements or social media posts, it should begin with senior leaders, not grassroots workers.
She termed “vote theft” a national issue, hinting that this arrest appears to be driven by political pressure.

Tension in Village; Mystery Over Arrest Continues

The sudden inter-state police action has created unease in the village and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, authorities remain tight-lipped, and the actual cause of arrest is still unknown. Villagers and Congress workers continue to wait for official clarification.
