
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the Madhya Pradesh Budget 2026 in the state assembly, focusing on farmers, youth employment, urban development, and modernization. The budget also emphasizes welfare schemes for women, students, and marginalized communities, while ensuring no new taxes are imposed on the public.
Farmers and Agriculture
- The budget is dedicated to farmers, with a plan to provide 1 lakh solar pumps and an annual support of ₹12,000 per farmer.
- Currently, 70 lakh farmers hold credit cards in MP.
- ₹412 crore allocated for fisheries development.
- ₹5,500 crore for the Krishak Unnati Yojana, along with ₹337 crore in incentives for farmers.
- ₹21,630 crore approved for the Chief Minister’s Mazar-Tola Road Scheme.
- Promotion of natural and modern farming practices is emphasized.
Women’s Welfare: Ladli Bahna & Ladli Laxmi
- Ladli Bahna Yojana registered 1.25 crore women, providing ₹1,500 per month. The budget allocates ₹23,882 crore for this scheme.
- Ladli Laxmi Yojana benefits 52.29 lakh girls, with ₹1,852 crore set aside.
Education and Students
- Free Tetra Pak milk will be provided to students up to Class 8.
- Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme will assist 7.95 lakh students.
- Sardar Patel Coaching Scheme to support 4,000 students preparing for competitive exams.
- 294 Sandeepani Schools will be established.
- Schools will be upgraded with smart facilities, and hostels near industrial areas are planned.
- 15,000 teacher appointments are in progress.
Energy, Infrastructure, and Urban Development
- Madhya Pradesh is moving toward energy self-sufficiency, supplying electricity to other states and upgrading power plants in Satpura and Amarkantak.
- Industrial areas and IT parks are being developed over 19,300 acres, with 33 lakh rupees in investment proposals over the last two years.
- Metro rail projects have started in Bhopal and Indore, alongside e-bus operations.
- 10 lakh houses under the PM Urban Housing Scheme.
- Sangh Sth Mahaparv development: ₹13,851 crore proposed, with ₹3,060 crore allocated in the budget.
Social Welfare and Health
- Disabled welfare schemes: ₹2,857 crore.
- Labour Department: ₹1,335 crore.
- Sports development: ₹815 crore, including stadium construction across all constituencies.
- PM Janman Yojana: ₹900 crore.
- Ji Ram Ji Scheme: ₹10,428 crore.
- Panchayat and Rural Development Department: ₹40,062 crore.
- Forest & Environment: ₹6,151 crore.
- From April 1, 2026, divorced daughters of families will also receive pensions.
- Police recruitment: 22,500 posts; 11,000 new houses for personnel.
- PM Awas Yojana: ₹6,850 crore.
Key Message
Finance Minister Jagdish Devda emphasized that no new tax will be imposed on the people this year. He concluded his budget speech with the slogan: “Jai Hind, Jai Madhya Pradesh.”
