
Motihari, Bihar: The Motihari police in East Champaran have initiated a strict crackdown on 18 notorious criminals who went absconding after being granted bail. Superintendent of Police (SP) Swarn Prabhat has made the list public and announced rewards for information leading to their arrest.
Details of the Wanted List
The SP clarified, “All accused are named in serious criminal cases across various police jurisdictions. Despite being granted bail, they failed to appear in court or report to the police, continuously challenging law and order. Following court orders, non-bailable warrants, public notices, and seizure actions have now been intensified against them.”
The 18 criminals hail from multiple police stations, including Harsiddhi, Govindganj, Kundwa Chainpur, Madhuban, Chakia, Sugauli, Piprakothi, Chhordano, and Kesariya. Each has a reward of ₹5,000 announced for information leading to their arrest. The names include Narad Sahni, Subhash Sahni, Ajay Sahni, Umar Farooq, Azhar Farooq, Himanshu Kumar, Ram Bhola Kumar, Munna Mansoori, Mukesh Sah, Upendra Sahni, Rajesh Sahni, Anmol Kumar, Kundan Upadhyay, Nishu Sahni, Jhunnu Sahni, Bhajju Thakur, Kundan Kumar alias Rocky, and Nilesh Kumar alias Chap.
Public Involvement Encouraged
To involve the public in the manhunt, SP Swarn Prabhat has shared his personal mobile number and urged citizens to report any sightings. He assured that the identity of informants would remain completely confidential and that they would receive the announced reward.
Police Action and Results
The SP noted that the announcement has already caused panic among several criminals, with some beginning the process of surrendering in court. Police teams have been instructed to conduct continuous raids at all potential hideouts and monitor their locations using technical surveillance. SP Swarn Prabhat emphasized, “There will be no leniency for criminals in Motihari. Those misusing bail will be brought to justice at all costs.”
