
Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident has come to light from Bair village in the Gharaunda Tehsil of Hapur district, where a mother and her son were allegedly forced to walk through the village with folded hands following a religious dispute. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, has triggered tension in the village. Police have registered a case against five individuals and launched an investigation.
Background of the Incident
According to reports, a young man from Shahpur Chaudhary village allegedly made offensive remarks about religion on social media and in public spaces. Outraged by his comments, members of another community reportedly raised objections during an event marking the third anniversary of the Ram Temple idol consecration. A dispute over the youth’s caste reportedly escalated, leading his community members to bring the matter before the village panchayat.
Following the panchayat proceedings, the mother and son were allegedly paraded through the village with folded hands. The video of the public humiliation went viral on social media, further escalating tensions in the area.
Police Action
The Gharaunda police promptly responded. Inspector Devendra Bisht of Gharaunda police station confirmed that the victim, Deepak, filed an FIR against five individuals involved in the incident. Circle Officer Stuti Singh stated that an investigation is underway and emphasized that no one has the right to take the law into their own hands. Legal action will be taken against those found responsible.
The incident highlights the dangers of mob justice and the importance of upholding the rule of law in rural communities.
