Mohan Bhagwat Meets CM Yogi; Keshav Maurya and Brajesh Pathak Join Discussions — BJP-RSS Gear Up for 2027 UP Elections

Lucknow: The political equations in Uttar Pradesh are being carefully recalibrated as the state enters an election year. With the 2027 Assembly elections just a year away, key political and organizational strategies are already being laid out. As part of the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is currently on a tour of Uttar Pradesh. After visiting Gorkhpur, he reached Lucknow on Wednesday, drawing the attention of top state leaders.

CM Yogi Meets RSS Chief

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with Mohan Bhagwat at Saraswati Kunj in Nirala Nagar, Lucknow, in a meeting that lasted approximately 40 minutes. The discussions focused on the political direction of the state, preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections, and strategies to effectively communicate government welfare schemes to every household.

Sources indicate that the meeting primarily aimed at strengthening coordination between the RSS and the government ahead of the upcoming elections. The Chief Minister also briefed Bhagwat on the implementation of various development schemes, investment proposals, and the state of law and order.

Support for Action on Rohingya Refugees

The meeting also touched upon the state government’s actions against illegal Rohingya residents in Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, Bhagwat appreciated the government’s firm stance on law and security, describing it as a necessary step in addressing social and security challenges in the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that there would be no compromise on law, order, and internal security.

Discussion on Investment and Industrial Growth

The two leaders also discussed significant topics such as the Special Investment Region (SIR) and PDA. CM Yogi provided insights on investment, industrial growth, and planning roadmaps, highlighting steps to position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for business and development. It was reported that there was a consensus on intensifying public awareness campaigns about these initiatives. The meeting signaled that in the upcoming elections, the BJP’s organizational machinery and government initiatives would work in close coordination under a unified strategy.

Deputy CMs Meet Mohan Bhagwat

Following the meeting with the Chief Minister, Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also met with the RSS chief. Analysts see the interactions with the state’s top three leaders as part of the RSS-BJP preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections.

From Gorkhpur, Bhagwat has been sending a message of organizational mobilization in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, he continued to emphasize the importance of activating RSS workers across the state, instructing them to reach out to households to share information about policies. He also discussed strategies to engage workers from other political groups and stressed the expansion of the family unit as a means of strengthening the organization.

Emphasis on Social Harmony and Modern Values

Earlier, at an event at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, the RSS chief highlighted the importance of social harmony, stating that discriminatory practices like untouchability have no place in society and that caste divisions have become irrelevant. He called upon all citizens as children of Mother India, sending a message of unity. He also touched upon pending Supreme Court cases related to UGC regulations.

Bhagwat stressed the need for modernization while avoiding blind imitation of the West. He highlighted strong family structures, good values, and limited social media usage as foundations of a robust society.
