Missing Ranchi Siblings Ansh and Anshika Recovered Safely in Ramgarh, Two Arrested

Ranchi, Jan 14:
In a major relief for the family and the police, two minor siblings—Ansh Kumar (5) and Anshika Kumari (4)—who had gone missing from Ranchi’s Dhurwa area on January 2, have been safely recovered from Ramgarh district. The children were traced and rescued from the Chitarpur area of Ramgarh in a joint operation by Ranchi Police and Ramgarh Police. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to officials, Ramgarh SP Ajay Kumar coordinated closely with Ranchi Police in the operation. After the successful recovery, the children were taken under police protection, and Ranchi SSP left with them for the capital. Police officials said a detailed disclosure of the case, including how the children reached Ramgarh and the role of the arrested accused, will be made soon.

Went Out to Buy Biscuits, Never Returned

As per police records, the siblings had stepped out of their home on January 2 to buy biscuits but failed to return. After receiving the missing complaint, police immediately launched an extensive search operation. For nearly 12 days, the family lived in fear of an untoward incident, but the safe recovery of both children has brought immense relief to their parents, relatives, and the local community. Medical checks have confirmed that both children are healthy and safe.

Massive Search Operation

Given the seriousness of the case, Jharkhand Police constituted a 40-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of SSP Rakesh Ranjan. The investigation involved forensic experts, a dog squad, and a detailed analysis of CCTV footage. The reward amount for information was first announced at ₹51,000 and later increased to ₹2 lakh to intensify the search.

Alerts were issued to nearly 17,000 police stations across the country, and special teams were dispatched to neighboring states including Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal. The sustained and coordinated efforts of the police ultimately led to the successful rescue of the missing siblings.

Police officials said the arrests mark a crucial breakthrough, and further investigation is underway to uncover all aspects of the case.
