Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh: In a remarkable eco-friendly initiative, Vindhyachal Dham is set to launch the “A Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign from Basant Panchami. Under this program, devotees visiting the temple will receive free medicinal and flowering plants, encouraging environmental conservation alongside spiritual devotion.
A Step Towards Green Awareness
The campaign aims to promote a “green revolution” and raise awareness about protecting nature. Devotees will take home plants as prasad after seeking blessings at the Vindhyavasini temple, allowing them to contribute to environmental preservation at their homes or in their communities. District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar emphasized that this initiative represents a beautiful synergy between religious faith and ecological responsibility, sending a message that protecting nature is an integral part of serving the divine.
Plant Distribution Details
A special counter has been set up at Gate No. 4 on Kotwali Road for the distribution of plants. Devotees can collect plants in two shifts daily: the first from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the second from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Deputy Director of Horticulture confirmed that all preparations have been completed, and staff duties have been assigned to ensure smooth distribution without inconvenience to devotees.
Administrative Inspection and Preparations
During an inspection of the Vindhyachal Corridor and the temple premises, the District Magistrate reviewed progress on ongoing construction projects, including the Safe House at Gate No. 1. He expressed dissatisfaction with delays and instructed the contractors to complete all works before the upcoming Basant Navratri.
The District Magistrate also emphasized strengthening cleanliness, ensuring the safety and convenience of devotees, and maintaining high-quality standards in all temple-related operations. Officials present during the inspection included Municipal Magistrate Avinash Kumar and Executive Officer of Mirzapur Municipal Council, Gova Lal, among others.
This initiative not only fosters environmental consciousness but also aligns spiritual practices with sustainable living, making devotees active participants in nature preservation.
