Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh: A tense police encounter took place in Barkachha area of Dehat Kotwali, Mirzapur, resulting in the arrest of gym trainer and owner Farid. During the encounter, Farid was shot in the leg. Police recovered two illegal firearms from the scene.
Background of the Case
The case was initiated following complaints from two young women who alleged that Farid had gained their trust under the pretense of friendship and romance, secretly recorded private videos, and then blackmailed them. Further investigation revealed that the trainer was allegedly part of a larger organized network. In connection with this case, Mohammad Sheikh Ali Alam, Faizal Khan, Zaheer, and Sadab have already been arrested, and five gyms, including KGN and B-Fit, have been sealed.

According to police, the accused fired at officers upon being cornered, prompting them to respond in self-defense. Farid was immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that he had been evading arrest for a long time, prompting the police raid.

The victims claimed that they were subjected to mental harassment, economic exploitation, and coercion to abandon their faith. They were allegedly threatened with the release of private videos and harm to their lives if they resisted. Police said the investigation is ongoing, with digital evidence, victim statements, and financial records being used to strengthen the case.

The case has created ripples in political circles. BJP MLA Ratnakar Mishra termed it a serious social crime and called for strict action against the culprits. Police have stated that anyone attempting to undermine law and order will not be spared. Interrogation of Farid continues, and authorities are actively tracing others connected to his network.
