Minor Wife Strangles Husband with Wedding Turban Over Social Media Reel in Jhabua

Jhabua, Jan 30, 2026: A shocking case from Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, has come to light where a minor wife allegedly killed her husband after a dispute over making a social media reel. The victim, 25-year-old Kailash Mal, was strangled with his wedding turban at their home. Police have taken the wife into custody, and she has confessed to the crime.

According to Jhabua SP Shivdayal Singh, Kailash’s body was found under suspicious circumstances on January 28. Post-mortem reports confirmed strangulation as the cause of death. During interrogation, the wife admitted that the argument started after Kailash forbade her from making a reel at a wedding she attended.

Dispute Over Social Media Reel Turns Fatal

Police reports indicate that the couple had ongoing disagreements, as Kailash reportedly suspected his wife of other matters. On the day of the incident, the couple attended a wedding where the wife was recording a reel while dancing to DJ music. Kailash objected to her making and posting the video online. Upon returning home, Kailash went to sleep, after which the wife used his wedding turban as a makeshift rope to strangle him while he was asleep.

Method Learned from YouTube

During questioning, the wife revealed that she had learned the method of strangulation from YouTube. She fashioned a rope from the turban and applied it until Kailash’s breathing stopped. The couple had been married for approximately one year, had no children, and both sets of parents of the husband were deceased.

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the dangers of social media disputes escalating into violence. Police continue to investigate the incident and have registered a case of murder against the wife.
