Minor Road Dispute Turns Deadly in Jabalpur: Furniture Merchant Stabbed to Death

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: A minor road dispute in Ranjhi, Jabalpur, took a fatal turn on Saturday night when a furniture businessman was stabbed to death. The incident occurred near the Gokulpur Durga Temple around 11:30 PM after a car and motorcycle collision escalated into a violent attack.

Victim Identified

The deceased has been identified as Ekant Sahu (35), a local furniture trader. According to Ranjhi Police Station in-charge Umesh Golhani, Ekant was parking his Creta car along the roadside when it collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. A verbal argument erupted immediately following the minor collision.

Attack by Gang

The motorcyclist reportedly called three to four accomplices, who arrived on two motorcycles and collectively attacked Ekant. During the assault, the victim was stabbed in the chest, leaving him severely injured and bleeding profusely.

Efforts to Save Victim Fail

Ekant was rushed to the hospital immediately, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police reached the crime scene shortly after and conducted a preliminary investigation, sending the body for post-mortem.

Authorities have registered a murder case against unknown assailants. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage and pursuing multiple leads to identify and apprehend the culprits.
