Chhatarpur (MP):
A youth was detained from a private hotel in Chhatarpur after he was found meeting a minor girl who alleged that he had been blackmailing her with objectionable videos. The situation escalated quickly, prompting local groups to intervene and hand him over to the police.
According to officials, the accused had allegedly been pressuring the girl for money and threatening to circulate her intimate videos if she refused to comply. The girl stated that the youth had already extorted ₹10,000 from her and was demanding another ₹30,000.
Video Was Recorded by Female Friends
In her statement, the minor revealed a shocking detail — the objectionable video was not taken by her but was secretly recorded by two of her female friends while she was bathing at their home. The video was then allegedly passed on to the accused, who used it to blackmail her repeatedly. Police have detained both young women for questioning.
Accused Lured the Girl to a Hotel
Police sources said the youth had called the girl to the hotel under the pretext of collecting the extortion money. He allegedly brought food for her as well. Acting on information, members of a local organization reached the spot and caught him as he attempted to flee.
Multiple Videos Found on Mobile Phone
At the Civil Lines police station, investigators recovered several objectionable videos and photographs from the accused’s mobile phone, allegedly involving multiple young women. TI Satish Singh confirmed that the device contained several suspicious files.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the investigation is now being conducted from all possible angles, including how the videos were recorded and circulated, and whether more individuals are involved.
