Minor Car Bump Turns Horrific: Retired Soldier Beaten and Dragged on Bonnet in Gwalior

Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: In a chilling display of road rage, a retired soldier, Kalyan Kishore Kant Sharma, was brutally assaulted and dragged nearly half a kilometer on the bonnet of a car following a minor traffic collision. The horrifying incident, captured in a few seconds of video footage, has sent shockwaves across the city and gone viral on social media.

According to police reports, Sharma, a resident of Adityapuram, was returning home with his family around 11 PM when his vehicle collided lightly with another car near DD Nagar Chowk. Eyewitnesses described the occupants of the other car as intoxicated and enraged, who immediately started attacking Sharma.

When Sharma attempted to stop the attackers by standing in front of their car, the assailants ran their vehicle over him. To save his life, Sharma clung to the car’s bonnet, but the perpetrators accelerated, dragging him for approximately 500 meters. In a sudden attempt to throw him off, the assailants applied the emergency brake abruptly, causing Sharma to fall violently onto the road. He sustained serious injuries and the attackers fled the scene.

Police have obtained the 16-second terrifying video and traced the vehicle to license plate MP 07 ZL-8545. Authorities claim the suspects have been largely identified and arrests are expected soon.

This shocking incident highlights growing concerns over road violence and public safety in the city.
