Minister Rakesh Singh Scolds Officials After Children Left Waiting as Leaders Take Center Stage in Chhindwara Mid-Day Meal Program

Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh: A mid-day meal program at a government school in Chhindwara turned chaotic when children were left waiting for food while political leaders occupied the stage and pandal. Witnessing the neglect, Minister Rakesh Singh lost his temper, bypassed protocol, and instructed officials to prioritize feeding the children first.

Leaders Take Precedence Over Children

According to reports, the school event, meant to ensure proper nutrition for students, became overcrowded with politicians and party workers who took center stage, leaving children standing at the sidelines with empty plates. On seeing the situation, Minister Rakesh Singh immediately intervened.

Minister Prioritizes Children Over Protocol

Upon arrival, Singh assessed the scene and was visibly angered by the disregard shown to the students. He sharply reprimanded officials and organizers on the spot, stating, “This is a program for the children, not for us. Feed them with respect first; only then can we proceed with formalities.” Following his stern instructions, the seating arrangements were quickly reorganized, several officials and leaders were asked to step aside, and food distribution for the children began immediately.

Focus on Children, Not Photo Opportunities

Local residents noted that preparations for the program had been underway for several days, but the focus seemed more on political presence and photo opportunities than on the students’ needs. Some parents expressed frustration, saying the mid-day meal program is meant for children’s nutrition, not political publicity. Education department officials clarified that the disorder was temporary and that the situation was corrected promptly following the minister’s intervention.
