Midnight Chaos at Patna University: Students Clash, Bomb Detonated After Coffee Shop Dispute

Patna, Bihar: A dispute between two groups of students at Patna University escalated into violence late Tuesday night, raising concerns over law and order. Students from Jackson Hostel and CV Raman Hostel were involved in a physical altercation, which culminated in a bomb being detonated near the Law College Ghat area in the Sultan Ganj police jurisdiction, creating panic in the neighborhood.

Incident Details
The clash reportedly began at a local coffee shop where students from the two hostels engaged in an argument that quickly turned into a fistfight. Local residents intervened to calm the situation, but one student sustained minor injuries during the scuffle. Police officials stated that the confrontation involved only a few students and was not representative of the hostels as a whole.

Bomb Detonation Causes Panic
Shortly after the fight, one group of students allegedly detonated a bomb against a wall of CV Raman Hostel to intimidate the opposing side and create fear. The explosion caused alarm among nearby residents, though no casualties or significant property damage were reported. The hostel premises, however, remain tense.

Security Measures and Police Action
Following the incident, Sultan Ganj police intensified security in the area. No formal complaints have been lodged yet, but authorities have taken cognizance and started identifying the perpetrators. DSP Rajkishore Singh confirmed that CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts are being used to identify the students responsible, and arrests are expected soon.
