Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh: Love knows no boundaries, and this was vividly seen in Singrauli, where a young woman from France arrived to marry her groom in Madhya Pradesh. Accompanied by 25 family members, the bride is embracing Indian culture and Hindu traditions for the wedding, which has become the talk of the town.
A Cross-Continental Love Story
Charlotte Olania, a resident of Orléans, France, traveled all the way to India to marry Sandeep Kumar Singh, who works in Belgium and hails from Panchkhora Road, Singrauli. The wedding celebrations have been carried out entirely in traditional Indian style. The Haldi ceremony was held with great pomp on Wednesday, followed by the Mehendi ceremony on Thursday, where intricate Indian designs were applied to the bride’s hands. That evening, the couple tied the knot in a formal Hindu ritual with sacred mantras.
Family and Friends Celebrate
Both families, relatives, and friends attended the grand wedding. Charlotte shared, “I have always heard about India since my childhood. After meeting Sandeep, we spent nearly two years together, and I was deeply impressed by him. Experiencing a traditional Indian wedding is very special for me, and I am extremely happy.”
Sandeep Kumar Singh added, “Being an Indian, marriage for me represents a lifelong bond. I wanted our wedding to follow Hindu rituals. About 25 members of my bride’s family have come from France to celebrate with us. We are all very excited about this occasion.”
A Historic Event for Singrauli
Local residents believe this is possibly the first time a foreign bride has come to Singrauli to get married according to Hindu customs. The unique event has drawn attention across the district, with many people eager to see the French bride partake in traditional Indian wedding celebrations.
