
Meerut: Tensions escalated in Kapsad village, Meerut, following the brutal murder of 45-year-old Sunita and the abduction of her 20-year-old daughter Ruby. The incident has triggered widespread outrage across the village.

In the wake of the tragedy, Samajwadi Party leaders attempted to enter the village on Friday but were stopped by a heavy police presence and barricades. Frustrated, SP MLA Atul Pradhan staged a sit-in, demanding access to the village to console the bereaved family. During the confrontation, the MLA clashed with police officers, insisting that he be allowed to meet the victims.
Speaking to the media, Pradhan said, “A daughter has been abducted, and her mother has been brutally murdered. Criminal activities are ongoing, yet we are being denied entry to the village. I demand that senior police officials intervene immediately.”
Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad Also Plans Visit
Adding to the political tension, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad has announced his intention to visit Kapsad village to support the family and ensure justice. Security has been heightened at the village entrance, with police monitoring all visitors and controlling access. The presence of SP leaders has further heated the atmosphere.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to reports, on Thursday morning around 8 AM, Sunita and her daughter Ruby were heading to the fields for sugarcane irrigation when they were allegedly stopped by local youths from the Rajput community. The women were harassed, and when Sunita protested, the assailants reportedly used caste-based slurs and struck her on the head multiple times with a sharp weapon. After Sunita collapsed, the attackers forcibly abducted Ruby. Sunita was rushed to Modipuram Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The victim’s family has not yet conducted the last rites and is demanding justice and swift action against the perpetrators.
