A significant development occurred in the high-profile Saurabh Rajput murder case, also known as the Blue Drum case, during Thursday’s hearing in the District Judge’s court. Lokesh Kumar, alternate nodal officer of Reliance Jio Infocon Ltd., appeared in court to provide crucial technical evidence.
Kumar testified before the court regarding mobile call detail records (CDRs), chat histories, and location data provided to the police, explaining the information in detail and responding to questions from both the prosecution and defense.
The incident occurred on March 3, 2025, in Indira Nagar, Brahmpuri police station area, where the accused, Muskan Rastogi, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, allegedly killed Muskan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput. According to the investigation, the body was dismembered and placed in a blue plastic drum, sealed with a cement-sand mixture, and the couple later left the scene. Both Muskan and Sahil have been in Meerut District Jail since March 17, 2025.
During his testimony, Kumar stated that all data had been provided to the police following legal procedures. The evidence included CDRs, chat histories, and detailed phone location records, showing which numbers were active at specific locations on different dates.
The testimony also revealed that one of the traced numbers was active in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh after the murder. The prosecution said this technical evidence could be critical in establishing the movements and activities of the accused following the crime.
So far, 15 witnesses have recorded their statements in the District Judge’s court. Experts believe this electronic evidence could prove decisive, as it provides a chronological framework of the incident and corroborates the presence of the accused at key locations. The next hearing has been scheduled for January 30, when forensic experts are expected to present scientific evidence in court.
