MBA Student Found Dead in Classmate’s Room in Indore; Obscene Video Viral Days Earlier

Indore: In a shocking incident from the Dwarkapuri police station area of Indore, the naked body of a 25-year-old MBA student was discovered inside her classmate’s room. The room was locked from outside. The student had been missing for three days, and a sexually explicit video involving her had gone viral two days prior. The family has accused the police of negligence in handling the case.

Classmate Identified, Accused on the Run
The deceased student had been attending a private institute on Sanwer Road along with Piyush Dhanotia, a resident of Mandsaur and her classmate. Police have confirmed that Dhanotia is absconding and are conducting a manhunt for him.

Timeline of Events
The student went missing on 10 February. She had left home with her father, claiming she needed to update her Aadhaar card and was dropped near the Collectorate. She informed her younger sister that she would be attending a classmate’s birthday party with Piyush and would return by 11 PM, but never came back. Her mobile phone was switched off, raising her family’s concern.

Obscene Video Circulated on College WhatsApp Group
On the night of 10 February, an objectionable video featuring the student’s face went viral on the college’s WhatsApp group. While the male participant’s face was obscured with an emoji, the student’s face was clearly visible. The next day, the college authorities contacted the student’s father after both phones remained unreachable and subsequently a missing person complaint was filed.

Police Accused of Laxity
The family alleges that on 12 February, despite extensive searches, the police did not act with due urgency. A police officer reportedly visited Piyush’s room but left after seeing the lock and advised contacting the landlord.

Discovery After Foul Odor Complaint
On Friday, police received a complaint about a strong odor emanating from the same room. The Dwarkapuri police broke the lock and found the student’s body. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams also reached the scene. The family claims that the accused had previously posted obscene videos of the student on her social media statuses and shared them with contacts saved in her phone.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have intensified their search for the accused.
