
Mathura: A Home Guard posted at Jaint Police Station in Mathura has accused a departmental Head Constable of using abusive language and collecting illegal payments from complainants. The officer-in-charge (CO) has assured that appropriate action will be taken after investigating the matter.
Allegations of Abuse After Duty
Jyoti Sharma reports that Sahib Singh, a Home Guard at Jaint Police Station, submitted a written complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), alleging that Head Constable Dharmveer verbally abused him without cause after his duty, which runs from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM. Singh stated that the incident left him demoralized.
Illegal ‘Commission’ from Complainants
In his complaint, the Home Guard also questioned the overall conduct of Head Constable Dharmveer, claiming that he extorts money from citizens who approach the police station for legitimate matters. Dharmveer is accused of demanding payments in exchange for assistance and using inappropriate language with visitors to the station.
Local resident Sachin Kumar corroborated the allegations, stating that he paid Rs 2,000 to the Head Constable for help with releasing an acquaintance.
Escalation if No Action Taken
The complainant warned that if no proper action is taken, he will escalate the matter to the Chief Minister’s Helpline.
Assurance of Investigation
Speaking to reporters, CO Sadar Pitampal Singh said that the matter has not yet formally come to his notice but assured that once it does, a prompt investigation will be conducted, and action will be taken based on verified facts.
Demand for Strict Action
The Home Guard has urged the SSP to take strict disciplinary and legal action against the officer to maintain departmental integrity and protect the morale of staff.
