
Mathura: A shocking incident has been reported from Mathura where Dheeraj Kaushik, a member of a cow protection group, was brutally attacked by a mob after raising objections to alleged meat sale in the Radhakund area of Govardhan. According to reports, the attackers gathered a group of 30–40 men from outside the locality and launched a violent assault on him at his own plot.
Argument Over Meat Sale Escalates
Dheeraj Kaushik had reached the Harijan Basti in Radhakund after receiving information about meat being sold in the area. An argument broke out between him and a few local residents, but the situation initially calmed down.
However, about half an hour later, several residents reportedly called 30–40 youths from outside the locality. The group then marched to Kaushik’s plot, where they allegedly abused him and launched a sudden assault using sticks and wooden rods.
Stone Pelting and Severe Injuries
The attackers also pelted stones at Kaushik’s property. He sustained multiple injuries on his body due to the beating and stone pelting.
Upon receiving information, the local police rushed to the scene. Seeing the police approaching, the attackers fled.
Victim Referred to District Hospital
Police immediately sent the injured Kaushik to the Govardhan Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical examination and first aid. Considering the severity of his injuries, doctors referred him to the Mathura District Hospital for further treatment.
FIR Registered; Investigation Underway
Based on Kaushik’s complaint, police have registered a case and begun efforts to identify and arrest all attackers involved. The incident has created tension in the Radhakund area, prompting heightened police vigilance.
