Massive Fire Breaks Out at Plastic Factory in Chhindwara’s Imalikhaira Industrial Area

Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, January 23, 2026: A major fire engulfed a plastic pipe manufacturing factory in the Imalikhaira Industrial Area of Chhindwara on Friday afternoon, sending towering flames and dense smoke visible from several kilometers away. The incident caused panic in the surrounding areas. Preliminary reports indicate that goods worth approximately ₹80 lakh were destroyed in the blaze.

Several fire brigade units rushed to the site, immediately beginning efforts to bring the fire under control. Authorities evacuated nearby areas as thick plumes of smoke filled the sky. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far, and the fire appears to have caused damage only to the factory and its contents. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, the fire has not spread to neighboring factories. Three fire brigade vehicles remain on-site, continuously working to contain the flames, which are fueled by the factory’s plastic materials, making suppression efforts particularly challenging.

Chhindwara police and local authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and an assessment of the full damage is underway. Safety measures remain in place in the surrounding industrial area to prevent further risk.
