
Neemuch: In one of the largest operations under the “Strike Against Drugs” campaign, the Narcotics Wing of Madhya Pradesh Police has unearthed an illegal MD drug manufacturing factory in Neemuch district. Over ₹30 crore worth of MD drugs and chemicals used in production were seized, and three accused have been arrested.
Details of the Operation
The clandestine factory was operating in a house built on farmland in Lasudiya Istamur village under the Rampura police station area. Acting on a tip-off, the Narcotics Wing conducted a raid on Friday, uncovering the illegal setup.
During the operation, authorities seized 2.7 kilograms of solid MD drugs ready for sale, 16 kilograms of liquid MD, and over 70 kilograms of various chemicals used to manufacture the drugs. The raid also led to the confiscation of three motorcycles and three mobile phones from the accused.
Long-Running Illegal Operation
Investigations indicate that the accused had been running this illicit business for a long time, aiming to produce MD drugs on a large scale.
Arrests Made
The arrested individuals have been identified as Niranjan Daima (resident of Khedi, Manasa), Arjun Garasiya, and Ramesh Garasiya (both residents of Lasudiya, Rampura). ADG Narcotics K.P. Venkateshwar Rao confirmed that the operation was conducted under the direct instructions of DGP, Madhya Pradesh Police, as part of the “Strike Against Drugs” campaign. The operation was successfully led by DIG Narcotics Mahesh Chand Jain.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are now interrogating the accused to trace the full network involved in the illegal MD drug trade, including funding sources and the supply chain. Officials believe the syndicate may have connections outside the state as well.
