
New Delhi: In a violent incident in Delhi’s Welcome area, a man allegedly slapped his neighbor, and when questioned about the attack, stabbed him in the chest. The victim narrowly escaped with his life, and the police have registered an attempted murder case.
Incident Details
The victim, 30-year-old Mohammad Imran, resides with his family in Seelampur. According to police, Imran had been beaten a few days earlier by the accused, Samad, and his accomplices over unpaid liquor dues. On 21 November, around 7 PM, Imran was returning home from work in Noida when he encountered Samad in the lane near his house.
When Imran asked Samad the reason for the earlier assault, the accused allegedly became enraged, drew a knife from his waist, and stabbed Imran on the left side of his chest while threatening his life. Imran managed to flee and was admitted to JPC Hospital by his uncle.
Police Action
Based on Imran’s statement, the Welcome police have registered a case of attempted murder and are investigating the incident. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the movements of Samad and his accomplices.
Background
Imran runs a shoe-selling business, buying from Sundar Nagri and selling in Noida. He has known Samad since childhood. The previous confrontation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over unpaid liquor payments, during which Samad and three associates verbally abused and assaulted Imran.
