Man in Mahoba Drives Car Wearing Helmet to Protest Fine, Sparks Public Curiosity

Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, February 10, 2026: Residents of Mahoba were left astonished when they spotted a man driving a car while wearing a helmet near the Paramanand Chowraha. The unusual sight drew attention and sparked questions about local policing practices.

A Unique Form of Protest
The incident occurred after a young man received a ₹1,000 online fine for “not wearing a helmet” while driving his car—a citation that left him bewildered. In protest, he decided to wear a helmet while driving, turning heads and leaving passersby puzzled.

According to Abhishek Kumar, he was returning from Rath on February 6, with Bhupendra Soni driving the car. Upon reaching the Kul Pahad police post, a local officer issued the online fine. Surprised by the mobile notification, the driver promptly put on a helmet to avoid further penalties.

Curious Onlookers Stop and Ask Questions
As the car continued its journey, people along the road stopped to ask questions and take a closer look at the unusual sight of a helmeted driver behind the wheel. While humorous to the public, the incident has raised serious questions about the logic and procedures followed by the local police.
