Major Train-Truck Collision in Deoghar, Jharkhand; Two Critically Injured

Deoghar, Jharkhand: A severe railway accident occurred in Deoghar on Wednesday, causing chaos on the Howrah–Jasidih main rail route. Near the Rohini–Navadih railway crossing, a runaway truck collided violently with a train, resulting in the truck’s front being completely destroyed. A motorcycle caught in the accident left two people critically injured. Both road and rail traffic have been disrupted.

Truck Collides With Motorcycle:
Eyewitnesses reported that after the collision with the train, the truck lost control and overturned onto a motorcycle, trapping it underneath. Local residents promptly rescued the two injured riders and rushed them to a nearby health center, where their condition remains serious.

Rail and Road Traffic Disrupted:
The accident has brought train operations to a halt along the Howrah–Jasidih route. Debris from the truck and the trapped motorcycle have also blocked the roadway, causing long traffic jams. Railway authorities, along with local administration, are using cranes and heavy machinery to clear the track and restore movement.

Administration and Rescue Efforts:
Teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the site immediately. Security personnel helped control the crowd and expedited relief operations. Officials stated that clearing the track to resume train services is the top priority. The police have launched an investigation into how the truck reached the tracks despite the railway crossing being closed.
