Major Fire in Paharganj Hotel, Delhi: 3 Injured, One Suffers Severe Burns

New Delhi: Panic ensued in Paharganj, Central Delhi, after a fire broke out in a hotel during the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Three people were injured, one critically, prompting immediate police and fire department action. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Details of the Injured
The injured have been identified as Vinod (36), Vasant Kumar (38), and Hitesh Kumar (36). Vinod sustained burn injuries over 70% of his body, while Vasant and Hitesh suffered burns on 10% and 5% of their bodies, respectively.

Fire Department Response
The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received the alert at 3:05 AM, reporting a fire in a five-story building. The fire, which originated on the ground floor, was brought under control by 4:25 AM. A total of eight people were safely evacuated from the premises. The three injured individuals were immediately admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Police have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, while fire safety authorities are inspecting the building for compliance violations.

The incident highlights the importance of stringent fire safety measures in hotels and multi-story buildings, particularly in densely populated areas like Paharganj.
