New Delhi: A shocking revelation has emerged in the triple murder case from the Peeragarhi area of Delhi, where a woman and two others were killed inside a car. The prime accused, Kamaruddin alias Baba (72), a self-proclaimed tantrik, is currently in police remand. Interrogation and raids at his Firozabad hideout have provided crucial insights into his criminal activities.
Confession During Interrogation
Authorities recovered books on black magic and rituals, mantras claiming to summon jinns, sindoor, and other occult items, reportedly used to intimidate and trap victims. Investigators discovered that the tantrik traveled monthly from Loni to Faizabad. During questioning, he admitted involvement in eight murders—six of which have already been linked to him, while police continue investigating the remaining two. DCP Outer District, Sachin Sharma, confirmed these findings.
Modus Operandi
Police revealed that Baba would use a combination of sulphas, sleeping pills, and cold drinks to carry out his crimes. He charged ₹7,000 per meeting, luring victims with promises of remedies for their problems. When Delhi Police attempted to arrest him at his Loni residence in Ghaziabad, he tried to escape by scaling a 17-foot wall, but the alert team successfully apprehended him.
Previous Cases and Firozabad Link
The accused was already facing two murder cases in Firozabad, prompting authorities there to reopen investigations into his past activities. DCP Outer District stated that Baba would convince people seeking solutions for health issues or personal problems, claiming he could provide remedies, which ultimately led to exploitation and, in some cases, murder.
Suspicion of Sexual Exploitation
Forensic examination of the mobile phone of the woman killed in the car revealed photos of several other girls. Police are investigating their identities. Preliminary findings suggest that Baba lured girls under the pretext of performing “Dhan Varsha” rituals, claiming sexual favors in the name of jinns, raising suspicions of sexual exploitation.
How Police Tracked the Accused
The investigation was led by ACP Operation Jay Prakash and ACP West Vihar Swagat Patil Rajkumar, with a team including Inspector Rohit Kumar (Special Staff), STF Inspector Rajpal Meena, Narcotics Inspector Ritesh Raj, and Anti-Snatching Cell In-Charge Devendra Pranav. CCTV footage revealed a fourth individual in the car, leading police to track her to Jhugirpuri, Delhi. She had gone to meet Baba in Loni. Subsequent raids at his Firozabad residence and questioning of his sons uncovered that Baba had been previously arrested in similar cases and claimed responsibility for seven previous deaths.
Police continue their investigation into this chilling case, uncovering the full extent of the tantrik’s alleged crimes and the potential network of victims he exploited.
