Details from the Suicide Note
In the note, Mishra wrote: “I was caught in a trap. I am innocent. Judge Sahib has sentenced me.” He also addressed his children, urging them to study well and support their mother, Sushma Mishra, so that his absence would not be felt. He expressed regret about struggling to find employment over the past three years and assured his children to stay away from negative influences.
Incident Background
Anil Mishra, husband of school manager Sushma Mishra, was found dead inside a room at the Ramleela Maidan school premises in Kotwali Nagar. The police took the body for post-mortem. While preliminary investigations indicate suicide, authorities are examining all angles of the case.
The case dates back to December 23, 2011, when Ganpat Sahay PG College principal Pratap Bahadur Singh was shot dead during the supervision of a back-paper examination, along with his security guard Suresh Singh. In October 2021, five accused were sentenced to life imprisonment, while Anil Mishra was out on bail pending his appeal in the High Court.
Police Statement
ASP Akhand Pratap Singh confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway. The suicide note recovered from the closed room is also being scrutinized as part of the probe.
