Main Accused in CISF Personnel’s Murder Dies in Police Custody in Singrauli, Allegations Surface

Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh): A serious and controversial case has emerged from Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district after the main accused in the murder of a CISF personnel died while in police custody. While the police have claimed that the accused died due to a heart attack, the deceased’s family has alleged that he was subjected to police torture, leading to his death.

The incident has sparked tension in the area, and authorities are currently awaiting the post-mortem report, which is expected to clarify the exact cause of death.

Accused Was on Three-Day Police Remand

According to reports, the case is linked to an incident that occurred recently at the NCL Amlori coal mine under the jurisdiction of Navanagar police station. A group of scrap thieves allegedly entered the coal mine with the intention of stealing cables and other valuable materials. When CISF personnel on duty attempted to stop them, the group reportedly attacked and brutally assaulted CISF jawan Satyendra Bharti, leaving him critically injured. He later died during treatment.

Following the incident, the police arrested the main accused Ram Avtar Singh along with other suspects. The court granted the police a three-day remand for further investigation.

Died on Second Day of Custody

However, on the second day of police custody, the accused allegedly complained of severe chest pain. Police officials stated that he was immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him brought dead.

Family Alleges Custodial Torture

The deceased’s family has raised serious allegations, claiming that he died due to police brutality while in custody. The matter has now taken a sensitive turn, and the police are facing growing questions regarding the circumstances of his death.

Investigation Underway, PM Report Awaited

SDOP Rahul Saiyam confirmed that the accused was on police remand when he developed chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He stated that the matter is being investigated and further action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings.

The incident has once again brought attention to the issue of custodial deaths and the need for transparency in police investigations.
