
Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident from Mahoba, a young man was allegedly killed by his girlfriend’s father and uncle just four days before her wedding. The victim, Ravi Prajapati, was strangled to death and his body was later dumped in a nearby pond. The accused have been arrested by the police.
Incident Details
The case comes from the Khanna police station area. According to local resident Harishchandra, his cousin Ravi, along with his younger brother Rahul, went to sleep on the night of February 1. Around midnight, Rahul woke up to find Ravi missing and the main door open. Rahul had no mobile phone with him, and there was no clue about Ravi’s whereabouts.
Ravi, a Class 12 student at Brahmachari Inter College, was reported missing, prompting a search by the police. His parents, Vardani and Sudha, who work as laborers in Rajasthan, rushed to the village after learning of his disappearance. On Friday afternoon, Ravi’s body was discovered in Simra Pond near the village. Outraged, locals blocked the highway demanding justice, after which a case was registered against the accused.
Love Affair Led to Murder
Police revealed that Ravi had a romantic relationship with Ramautar’s daughter. Her wedding was scheduled for February 5. To prevent any disruption to the wedding, Ramautar, along with his brother Ram Singh, allegedly lured Ravi under a pretext, strangled him, and dumped his body in the pond.
Police Action
Station House Officer Arjun Singh stated that the accused, Ram Singh and Ramautar, were arrested from the canal embankment in Banni village and sent to jail. Three mobile phones were also recovered from their possession.
The case has sent shockwaves through the village, raising serious concerns about crimes committed in the name of family honor.
