
Satna News | Administrative Action:
Major administrative action has been taken in Satna district after severe negligence was found in the implementation of the ‘Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam’ project under the MGNREGA scheme. District Panchayat CEO Shailendra Singh has issued show-cause notices to nine officials, including five engineers, for their poor performance and lack of seriousness in executing the project. The officials have been directed to submit satisfactory replies within three days, failing which disciplinary action will be initiated.
Satna Slips in State Ranking
According to CEO Shailendra Singh, the negligence of concerned officers and employees has pushed Satna district far behind in the state-level progress chart. The district now ranks 40th among 79 districts, lagging behind 39 other districts in project implementation. Singh expressed deep dissatisfaction over this dismal performance, calling it “unacceptable and disappointing.”
Negligence Under Scrutiny
The CEO stated that the district’s performance under ‘Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam’ and related government initiatives has been declining for some time. He attributed this fall to a lack of accountability and seriousness among the subordinate staff responsible for execution at the ground level.
Officials Facing Action
Show-cause notices have been issued to several engineers and officers for dereliction of duty. The list includes:
- Lazarus Kerketta, Executive Engineer, RES
- Paritosh Singh, Assistant Engineer
- Rajesh Pandey, Assistant Engineer
- R.B. Gautam, Assistant Engineer
- Madhu Bagri, Executive Engineer
- Manisha Kuril, APO
- Sanjay Bharti Goswami, APO
- Nagendra Tiwari, APO
- Vibha Singh, Project Coordinator
Instructions to Improve Performance
The CEO further mentioned that notices have also been sent to officers at the Janpad Panchayat level who are responsible for MGNREGA development blocks. They have been instructed to immediately accelerate progress and restore the district’s ranking within the state.
Strict Warning from the CEO
In a stern message, CEO Shailendra Singh warned:
“If the officials fail to submit their replies within the stipulated three days or their explanations are found unsatisfactory, strict disciplinary action will be taken without any further notice.”
This move by the district administration has created a stir across the region, signaling that negligence in state welfare projects will not be tolerated.
