Indore/Shillong: In the high-profile murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, his elder brother Vipin Raghuvanshi is set to testify in court in Shillong. Before leaving, Vipin made a startling claim, asserting that Sonam and Raj Kushwaha killed Raja out of lust. He emphasized that only strict punishment for all five accused would bring justice to Raja.
Testimony Scheduled for 11 November
Vipin Raghuvanshi’s statement will be recorded in Shillong court on 11 November. Before departing, he spoke to the media, stating that he had filed the complaint regarding Raja and Sonam’s disappearance. He also mentioned that he has not received a copy of the chargesheet, which would clarify the motive behind Raja’s murder.
Allegation of Lust-Driven Killing
Vipin told reporters, “I believe Raj Kushwaha and Sonam killed Raja out of lust. Love may inspire sacrifices, but these two took his life for their selfish desires.” He further demanded that all five accused should receive either the death penalty or life imprisonment for justice to be served.
Case Background
Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered on 23 May in Shillong while on his honeymoon. His body was recovered on 2 June. Following the incident, Sonam went missing but was later found in Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, Meghalaya police arrested the other accused, and the investigation revealed that Sonam had returned to Indore after the murder.
This testimony is expected to be crucial in the trial, potentially shaping the course of justice in the high-profile case.
