
Satna, Madhya Pradesh: In a disturbing incident at the historic Gaivinath Temple in Birsinghpur, Satna district, a group of youths crossed all limits while shooting a social media ‘reel’. The viral video shows the young men performing obscene gestures and igniting dangerous fireworks inside the sacred temple premises, sparking outrage among devotees. Acting promptly, the police have registered a case against three identified youths and launched an investigation.
Obscenity in the Temple Late at Night
According to reports, the video was likely recorded late at night during Diwali or Devutthani Ekadashi. The clip depicts local youths setting off loud firecrackers within the temple complex, a revered religious site for Hindus. Shockingly, in a bid to gain social media popularity, the individuals performed obscene and disrespectful gestures directly in front of the camera.
Viral Video Sparks Outrage
The video went viral on Monday evening, triggering widespread anger in Birsinghpur and neighboring areas. Locals demanded immediate identification of the offenders and strict action against them, emphasizing that such disrespect at a sacred site is intolerable.
Religious Sentiments Violated
Gaivinath Temple is one of Satna’s major pilgrimage centers, attracting thousands of devotees annually, especially during Sawan and Shivratri. Community members expressed concern that creating such obscene content for social media likes sends a harmful message and constitutes a blatant insult to religious sentiments.
Police Take Swift Action
Recognizing the gravity of the incident, Shankhdhar Dwivedi, Station House Officer of Sabhapur police station, confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the three youths featured in the video. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
