
Ujjain: Ujjain police have successfully busted an interstate gang that carried out robberies while disguising themselves as Naga sadhus, arresting seven members in connection with the crime. The gang reportedly stopped a car, looted gold jewelry worth over ₹1 lakh and cash of ₹5,000, and fled. Authorities managed to apprehend the accused within just 30 minutes.
According to reports, Mansoor Ali Patel, a resident of Kaliyadeh, filed a complaint with Dial 112, stating that seven unknown individuals stopped his car near Nimanwasa Mor. Four of them were dressed in the traditional attire of sadhus. The accused reportedly threatened to harm him and then escaped in a silver Artega car with the stolen items.
Police Action Yields Quick Result
Immediately after receiving the alert, the district police launched a citywide checkpoint and search operation. Officers from Narwar Police Station intercepted the suspect vehicle at the Palkhanda checkpoint, arresting all seven culprits. The stolen goods and the vehicle used in the crime were also seized.

- Rajesh Nath (41), Delhi
- Rumal Nath (60), Delhi
- Birju Nath (45), Delhi
- Rakesh Kumar (45), Delhi
Gang Admits to Previous Crimes
During interrogation, the accused admitted to carrying out similar robberies in Ujjain, Ghatia, Dewas, and Shajapur. Police have begun probing the gang’s criminal network.
Police Advisory
SP Pradeep Sharma stated, “Those committing crimes in Ujjain will not be spared under any circumstances. Our forces are vigilant at all times.” He further urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity via Dial 112, emphasizing, “Your safety is our responsibility.”
