

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): With a saffron turban on her head, the Indian flag draped proudly over her shoulders, and the World Cup medal shining on her chest — India’s star pacer Kranti Gaur received a heroic homecoming as she returned to her hometown in Bundelkhand after winning the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
The atmosphere at Khajuraho Airport turned electric as hundreds of fans, relatives, and supporters gathered to welcome their champion. As soon as Kranti stepped out of the terminal, she was greeted with a shower of flower petals, chants of “Kranti Gaur Zindabad!” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” echoing through the air.
A Road Full of Celebration
From Khajuraho to Chhatarpur, a convoy of hundreds of vehicles followed Kranti’s car. Locals lined the roads, waving flags and garlanding her at every stop. The young cricketer acknowledged the cheering crowds, waving from the sunroof while proudly wrapped in the Indian Tricolor. Children, youth, and elders alike celebrated this moment of pride for Bundelkhand.
District Administration Honors the Champion
Upon reaching Chhatarpur, Collector Parth Jaiswal and SP Agam Jain felicitated Kranti Gaur on behalf of the district administration. Tight security arrangements were made as massive crowds poured in to witness the celebration.

Speaking on the occasion, Kranti expressed her gratitude and joy:
“This victory isn’t just mine — it belongs to every daughter and every supporter of Bundelkhand. I’m proud to have been part of the team that brought the World Cup home to India. I hope our women’s team continues to make the nation proud in the future as well.”
Chartered Flight from Bhopal to Khajuraho
After meeting Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Bhopal, Kranti arrived at Khajuraho in a chartered plane along with her family. Her grand roadshow began there and concluded at her ancestral village, where celebrations continued late into the night.
At just 22 years of age, Kranti Gaur has become a symbol of inspiration and pride for the entire Bundelkhand region. Her triumph has turned her homecoming into a festival — one that will be remembered for years to come.
