Vidisha Viral Video: A heartbreaking video from Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district has stirred public outrage and political debate across the state. The clip shows a teenage girl sitting by the roadside, eating leftover food picked from a discarded packet. The disturbing visuals have prompted immediate action from local authorities, with three government departments — the Municipal Council, the Social Justice Department, and the Women and Child Development Department — launching a joint search operation to locate the girl.
Viral Video Sparks Administrative Panic
The incident came to light on Monday after a local journalist shared the distressing video on social media. The footage quickly went viral, evoking shock and sorrow among citizens and officials alike. Within hours, the administration swung into action, deploying multiple teams to trace the unidentified girl seen eating near a garbage heap.
Extensive Search Operation Underway
Municipal Council CMO Durgesh Singh Thakur confirmed that search operations were conducted across several parts of the city on Sunday evening and Monday. “Our teams searched along Sanchi Road, the bus stand area, and around the railway station, but we haven’t been able to trace her yet,” he said.
Shopkeepers at the bus stand told officials that the girl had reportedly arrived two days earlier on a bus from Raisen district. Officials from the Women and Child Development Department, including Santosh Raghuvanshi, stated that efforts were also made to locate her at local shelters and temporary camps, but the search has so far yielded no results.
Political Reactions Intensify
As the search continues, the video has triggered a heated political debate. State Congress President Jitu Patwari took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to target the ruling BJP government, calling the incident a “painful symbol of decades of misrule.”
“This heartbreaking image from Vidisha is proof of the BJP’s failed governance. Food meant for the poor rots before it reaches them, while the needy are forced to eat from garbage,” Patwari wrote.
A Mirror to Society’s Neglect
The viral video has once again raised uncomfortable questions about the state’s welfare mechanisms and the ground reality of poverty. While administrative teams continue their search for the young girl, the clip remains a haunting reminder of hunger, inequality, and apathy — a reflection of how the nation’s most vulnerable often slip through the cracks of a system meant to protect them.
