Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to fulfill his promise to the state’s women beneficiaries under the flagship “Ladli Behna Yojana.” Over 1.26 crore women will now receive ₹1,500 per month, an increase from the earlier ₹1,250.
According to government sources, the Chief Minister will personally transfer the enhanced amount to beneficiaries’ accounts on November 12 during a state-level event in Babai, Narmadapuram district. This marks the first hike in two years since the scheme’s launch.
Minister Confirms Implementation
Confirming the development, Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria said that the increased amount will be credited starting this month. The Chief Minister had earlier announced that the benefit amount would gradually be raised from ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 per month in the coming phases.
On October 12, 2025, the government disbursed the 29th installment of ₹1,541 crore to over 1.26 crore beneficiaries.
Fulfilling the Diwali Bonus Promise
Earlier, during the festive season, the Chief Minister had promised a “Diwali Bonus” of ₹1,500 to mark Bhai Dooj. On October 18, 2025, he announced an additional ₹250 for the festival and assured that the monthly amount would be raised to ₹1,500 starting in November.
Though the additional ₹250 was not disbursed on October 23, the government reiterated its commitment to implement the revised amount from November 2025 onward.
Over ₹45,000 Crore Disbursed So Far
The Ladli Behna Yojana, launched in March 2023, initially provided ₹1,000 per month to eligible women. The amount was first increased to ₹1,250 in October 2023 and is now being raised again to ₹1,500.
Since the scheme’s inception, the state government has transferred ₹45,000 crore across 29 installments to women beneficiaries. However, new registrations have been suspended since August 20, 2023.
The upcoming disbursal on November 12 will be both a symbolic and practical fulfillment of CM Mohan Yadav’s pledge to empower women through financial independence and sustained economic support under the Ladli Behna Yojana.
