
Bhopal, MP: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued any major weather warnings for Madhya Pradesh for Saturday, 31 January 2026. Clear skies and cold winds are expected across the state. No rainfall is forecast in any district. Temperatures are likely to fall, with dense fog predicted in 10 districts and moderate fog affecting more than 25 districts.
Impact of Cold Wave and Fog:
The state has experienced a mix of rainfall, cold, sunshine, and fog over the past three days. In the last 24 hours, most districts have recorded a drop in both daytime and nighttime temperatures. Rajgarh remained the coldest district with a minimum of 3°C. Cold winds have created chilly conditions in Rajgarh, while districts including Bhopal, Dhar, Ratlam, Nowgong, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Datia, and Gwalior experienced cold days. Girwar in Shajapur saw particularly severe cold. In the Ujjain division, temperatures were 6°C below normal, and Shahdol recorded a nighttime drop of 4.3°C to 5.7°C in the last 24 hours.
Districts Affected by Dense Fog:
According to the IMD forecast, dense fog will prevail in Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Panna, Chhatarpur, and Maihar. Gwalior, Datia, Tikamgarh, and Niwari will experience dense fog along with cold daytime conditions. Medium fog is expected in Vidisha, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Shyopurkalan, Katni, Damoh, and Sagar districts.
Capital Bhopal to Remain Cold:
In Bhopal, maximum temperatures are expected to reach 23°C, while minimum temperatures may drop to 11°C. Winds will blow at 10–12 km/h, and light fog may form in the morning. No rainfall is expected.

Weather in Indore:
Indore, the state’s economic capital, will also experience clear skies and cold conditions. Maximum temperatures are expected between 21°C and 22°C, and minimum temperatures around 11°C. No significant changes in weather are anticipated.
Rainfall Status:
While several districts recorded rainfall on 28–29 January, no rainfall has been reported in the last 24 hours. The state remains dry, with no chances of rain predicted on 31 January. IMD has issued only a fog warning, and no significant rainfall is expected until 2 February. Cold conditions will persist, especially during early mornings and evenings.
Extremes:
Rajgarh recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 3°C, while Kannod in Dewas reported the highest minimum of 14.4°C. Morena recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 17°C, and Khargone the highest maximum at 29°C.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against cold and foggy conditions, particularly during early morning and late evening hours.
