
Ludhiana: In a shocking and gruesome incident, a young chef in Ludhiana’s Khanpur area was brutally attacked by a gang of transgenders over a dispute concerning “badhai” money. The victim is fighting for his life, while the accused remain at large.
Kidnapped and Maimed
According to police reports, 21-year-old Manpreet Singh, who worked as a cook at a religious establishment, was targeted by two rival transgender groups on the morning of January 24. Manpreet was reportedly sedated, forced into a car, and held hostage for two days. On the night of January 26, the assailants severed his private parts with a sharp weapon before abandoning him bloodied by the roadside.
Victim Rushed to Hospital
Passersby rushed Manpreet to the Civil Hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to PGI Chandigarh for critical treatment. Authorities have confirmed that he remains in intensive care and is battling for survival.
Police Hunt Underway
Police have registered a case against the main accused, Rabina Mahant, and nine accomplices under sections including attempted murder and criminal conspiracy. Amarjeet, officer at Division 3 Police Station, stated that raids are underway at the suspects’ known locations and that the perpetrators are expected to be apprehended soon.
This incident has sent shockwaves through Ludhiana, highlighting the extreme consequences of seemingly trivial disputes and the urgent need for public safety enforcement.
