Lucky Passengers! Five New ‘Amrit Bharat’ Trains to Start Operations Across Key Routes

Patna, January 13, 2026: In a major boost to India’s railway modernization, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate five new ‘Amrit Bharat’ Express trains via video conferencing on January 17, 2026. These state-of-the-art trains will connect major cities including Howrah, Anand Vihar (Delhi), Varanasi, Sealdah, Mumbai, and key destinations in Northeastern India, providing passengers with a safer, faster, and more comfortable travel experience.

The new trains will feature modern designs, advanced shock absorbers, and enhanced safety features, while offering premium amenities at affordable fares. The formal inauguration will also include the announcement of detailed routes and schedules.

Enhanced Connectivity Across Regions
Prime Minister Modi will flag off trains on the Varanasi–Sealdah and Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar (Lucknow) routes. The Varanasi–Sealdah train is expected to boost business and religious tourism between Eastern Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, while the Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar route will directly connect the Northeast with Uttar Pradesh’s capital, improving accessibility for long-distance travelers.

For Bihar passengers, a new Anand Vihar–Howrah Amrit Bharat Express will serve as a vital link, easing travel between Bihar, West Bengal, and Delhi. Another train running from Kamakhya (Assam) to Rohtak (Haryana) will connect key stations across West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, offering relief to long-distance travelers.

Facilitating Trade and Labor Mobility
A new service between Panvel (South Mumbai) and Alipurduar (West Bengal) will simplify travel for migrant workers and traders, enhancing economic connectivity between Maharashtra and Eastern India.

All five trains will begin regular operations with announced schedules and stops immediately after the inauguration on January 17. These services are set to revolutionize long-distance rail travel, offering passengers modern amenities, faster travel times, and improved regional connectivity.
