Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal constructions in the city, sealing 11 commercial establishments during a major enforcement drive on Friday. The action comes as part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s ongoing efforts to curb unauthorized building activities.
Under the supervision of LDA Vice-Chairman Pratmesh Kumar, Enforcement Zone-2 teams conducted raids in the Mohanlalganj and Gosainganj areas. Zonal Officer Virag Karwariya reported that the drive targeted constructions ranging from warehouses and marriage lawns to commercial complexes, all built without approved layouts or permissions.
Among the establishments sealed was the SAS Hyundai showroom, reportedly constructed on nearly 1,000 square meters of land by Sushil Kalra, Nitin Agrawal, and others in Mohanlalganj. The LDA deemed the construction a violation of building regulations and promptly sealed it.
In the Pursaini area of Mohanlalganj, two more establishments—Kalyan Sweets & Restaurant and Kalyan Steel—were constructed on 250-square-meter plots by Trilochan Singh. Additionally, Shri Ganpati Steel Emporium, built on a 180-square-meter plot by Ramakant Dwivedi and others, was also sealed for lacking proper approvals.
Zonal officials confirmed that during the operation, 11 illegal commercial constructions ranging from 120 to 2,000 square meters were identified and sealed. The move reflects the LDA’s strict stance against unauthorized construction activities and sends a strong message to violators across the city.
