Lucknow: 14-Year-Old Student Hides Under Bed Due to Mobile Gaming Addiction

Lucknow: In a startling incident from Mastipur village, Nigohan area, Lucknow, a seventh-grade student hid under a double bed at home after getting scolded for his excessive mobile gaming. The incident sent a strong message to parents about monitoring children’s screen time.

The student’s family initially reported him missing after he disappeared while preparing to go to a private school located near their home. Despite hours of searching by family members and even informing local authorities, there was no trace of the boy. CCTV footage revealed that he never left the house.

Found Safe Under the Bed

Police finally conducted a search inside the house around 2 PM, revealing that the student, Krishna Verma, had hidden under the double bed. Police Sub-Inspector Anuj Kumar Tiwari confirmed that during questioning, Krishna said he hid due to fear of going to school.

Addiction to Mobile Games

Family members and neighbors revealed that Krishna had developed a habit of playing mobile games late into the night. Often spending hours on an online game, he was frequently scolded for neglecting studies and routine tasks. On Friday, after another disagreement over his gaming, he chose to hide at home. The family also noted that Krishna had previously left home for hours at a time but always returned on his own.

Police Advice to Parents

Following the incident, the family expressed relief at finding Krishna safe and decided to withdraw the missing complaint. Police advised parents to maintain close supervision of children, encourage open communication, and be mindful of excessive gaming habits to prevent similar incidents in the future.
