Love Marriage Sparks Tantrik Drama in Meerut, Lady Constable Left Terrified

Meerut: A shocking incident involving superstition and alleged black magic came to light in Meerut after a young woman, who had entered into a court marriage with her neighbour, was allegedly subjected to a tantrik’s rituals while under police protection. The incident left even a lady constable accompanying her shaken and raised serious questions about security arrangements.

According to police sources, the woman, a resident of a village in the Partapur area, had married a neighbouring युवक through a court marriage. Upset over the union, her family had earlier filed a complaint on January 7, accusing the man of kidnapping. A case was registered, and police began searching for the couple.

On Friday, the couple voluntarily appeared at the police station and produced their marriage certificate. They informed the police that they feared for their lives from the woman’s family and sought protection.

Tantrik Forces His Way Into Vehicle

As per procedure, the police arranged to send the woman for a medical examination to CHC Bhudbharal in a private vehicle under police escort. However, during the journey, her family intercepted the vehicle. Allegedly, a tantrik accompanying them forcibly entered the vehicle and began performing so-called rituals and chanting mantras on the woman.

The lady constable present strongly objected, but the tantrik and family members ignored her protests. The situation reportedly became so frightening that the constable herself felt threatened.

Accused Flee Before Police Arrival

The constable immediately informed Partapur Police Station. Before additional police forces could reach the spot, the tantrik and the woman’s relatives fled. The woman was then safely brought back to the police station and later sent to the Asha Jyoti Centre for protection.

Following the incident, the groom’s family questioned the adequacy of police security, alleging serious lapses that allowed such an incident to occur despite police presence.

Police Statement

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh said that the woman’s medical examination has been completed and she has been placed at the Asha Jyoti Centre. She will be produced before the court on Saturday, and further legal action will be taken based on her statement.

The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of superstition and the challenges faced by couples choosing love marriages in conservative settings.
