Love Marriage Dispute Turns Deadly in Lucknow; Father and Brother Stab Son-in-Law to Death

Lucknow, February 18, 2026: In a shocking incident in Lalata Kheda village under Kakori police station, a young man was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife’s family over a love marriage. The police have arrested four accused, including the victim’s father-in-law and brother-in-law, while a minor is also in custody. Post-mortem reports confirm multiple stab wounds on the neck and face.

Incident Planned Under Pretext of Farewell
According to Rahul Gautam of Madhav Tanda in Pilibhit, his 24-year-old brother, Ramsagar, who sold clothes as a hawker, had developed a friendship with Kamini, a cousin from Lalata Kheda village in Kakori. Their friendship eventually turned into a love relationship, culminating in a marriage in 2024. Kamini’s family reportedly disapproved and had arranged her marriage elsewhere, which Ramsagar opposed.

On Monday night, the in-laws allegedly lured Ramsagar and Rahul outside Lalata Kheda village under the guise of a farewell ceremony. The accused—Kamini’s father Bhimma Gautam, brothers Sumit and Amit, and others—allegedly attacked the brothers. Rahul stated that the attackers chased and beat them, and Sumit allegedly stabbed Ramsagar multiple times on the stomach, neck, and face. Ramsagar collapsed on the spot, and the attackers fled when villagers arrived.

Victim Declared Dead at Hospital
Ramsagar was rushed to Sarojini Nagar CHC by his brother Rahul, where doctors declared him dead. The police recovered the knife used in the attack. Kakori police inspector Satish Chand Rathore confirmed that a case has been registered and all accused have been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
