Love Letters, Political Threats and Suicide Notes: Woman Arrested for Harassing Bengaluru Police Inspector

In a disturbing case of prolonged harassment, Bengaluru Police have arrested a woman for allegedly stalking, threatening and mentally harassing a serving police inspector, even going to the extent of issuing suicide threats and invoking the names of top political leaders to exert pressure.

According to police sources, the incident involved the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station, Inspector Satish G.J., who began receiving repeated WhatsApp calls from an unknown number on October 30. When he answered one such call, the woman identified herself as Sanjana alias Vanaja and claimed that she was in love with him, insisting that he reciprocate her feelings.

Initially treating the calls as a prank, the inspector ignored them. However, the woman continued to contact him persistently from multiple phone numbers. Despite blocking her calls, the harassment did not stop.

Claim of Political Influence and Threats

The situation escalated when the woman contacted the inspector from another number, claiming to be a Congress party worker with close connections to influential leaders, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and the Home Minister. She reportedly sent photographs of herself with senior political figures such as Motamma and Lakshmi Hebbalkar, warning the inspector that she would use her political influence if he failed to comply with her demands.

Soon after, calls were received by the inspector from the offices of the Home Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister, questioning why the woman’s grievance was not being addressed. The inspector clarified that no formal complaint had ever been filed by the woman and described her behavior as irrational and threatening.

Unwanted Visits and Disturbing Letters

The harassment intensified further when the woman visited the police station in the inspector’s absence, falsely claiming to be his relative. She left behind a bouquet of flowers and a box of sweets in his office. Despite being clearly warned not to send or deliver such items, her actions continued unabated.

On November 7, while the inspector was attending to public grievances, the woman forcibly entered his office and handed him an envelope. Shockingly, the envelope contained three handwritten letters and strips of antidepressant pills labeled “Nexito Plus.” The letters professed her love and issued explicit suicide threats, stating that if her love was not accepted, she would end her life and hold the inspector responsible.

One of the letters reportedly had a heart symbol written in blood, bearing the message, “Chinni, love you. You love me.” The woman claimed the writing was done using her own blood.

Pattern of Harassment

Despite repeated counseling attempts by police teams and senior officers, the woman remained uncooperative. Investigations revealed that she had earlier displayed similar obsessive and threatening behavior toward other senior and junior police officers. Even her family members reportedly refused to cooperate with authorities or provide relevant information.

On December 12, 2025, the woman again arrived at the police station, shouting slogans, declaring her love publicly and threatening suicide and reputational damage if the inspector rejected her.

Case Registered, Probe Underway

Following continuous disruption of official duties, criminal intimidation and repeated suicide threats, Inspector Satish G.J. formally lodged a complaint. The woman has since been arrested, and a case has been registered under relevant sections for obstructing public service, criminal intimidation and issuing suicide threats.

Police officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is ongoing to assess the psychological aspects of the case and to prevent any further incidents.
