
Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh: A surprising love story has emerged from Jagannathpur village in Kaushambi district, where Krishna Kumar, a young man, fell in love with his maternal cousin, Sanjana. Despite initial opposition from family members, the couple’s determination and mutual affection led to their marriage at a local temple with the consent of both families and local police.
A Tale of Forbidden Love
Krishna Kumar frequently visited his cousin Sanjana’s home, and over time, developed strong feelings for her. As their bond grew, the couple decided to marry, which initially sparked protests from their respective families, who raised concerns over societal norms and family reputation. Tensions escalated, with both Krishna and Sanjana warning of potential drastic consequences if prevented from marrying. Eventually, the families relented, acknowledging the couple’s maturity and mutual consent.
Temple Wedding and Police Approval
On Tuesday, with both families and local authorities present, Krishna and Sanjana were married in a traditional Vedic ceremony. Both families provided written consent to the police, stating they had no objections to the marriage and that no legal action was required.
Police Statement
Roshan Lal, in-charge of the Mohabbatpur Painsa police station, confirmed that both Krishna and Sanjana are adults. He stated that the couple has voluntarily and lawfully accepted each other as husband and wife, and there are no ongoing disputes.
